In September 2004 two Ukrainian doctors arrived in Ireland seeking asylum.

They had been part of an exposé highlighting human rights abuses of women and unborn children in the Ukraine.

Some doctors were deceiving women into aborting their unborn children. The children would be aborted live for bogus 'medical' reasons, and their body parts would be removed. Many women were actually paid to get pregnant and to deliver the baby at a given gestation. In some cases live dissection took place.

It appears that most of the body parts were sold to the cosmetic industry and for dubious medical "therapies".

A Ukrainian television station (Channel 5) made a documentary about the exposé. This was screened in the Ukraine after their departure. Their investigation was carried out with full police knowledge. When the investigation revealed the true extent of these practices and government sanction, they were advised to stop. The police informed them they could no longer guarantee their safety. Shortly after this an attempt was made on their lives. This was one of the main reasons why they felt compelled to leave.

After four intense interviews their request for asylum in Ireland was rejected. They are appealing the decision.

Please can you lobby and PRAY that these courageous doctors can be given sanctuary in Ireland with their families. Time is running out.

Neither of the two doctors has seen their families since they arrived over 18 months ago. For Vladymyr Ischenko the separation is very painful. His first children (twins) were born in March 2005, six months after his exile from the Ukraine.

Concerned people and friends in Ireland have lobbied the Taoiseach, the Minister for Justice, TD's, and the EU parliament. While they have expressed sympathy nothing tangible as yet, has happened.

The families of Vadym and Vladymyr are experiencing financial hardship. To date they have survived on charitable donations from friends in the Ukraine and in Ireland.

Their appeal will be heard in Dublin on March 30th. Please pray for a successful outcome.

Rescue those unjustly sentenced to death. Don't stand back and let them die. Don't try to disclaim responsibility by saying you didn't know about it. For God, who knows all hearts knows yours, and He knows you knew. And He will reward everyone according to his deeds' (Prov 4:11)
